"Rare Discounts"

Some games go on sale rarely or never. It’d be great to see when titles are “rare deals” when I’m searching or on the item page

This is a great suggestion. I was going to suggest “first discount ever”, but this works too. E.g. when, after the first discount, discounts occur a year or more apart, or there hasn’t been a discount on the title for more than a year.

Instead of having an arbitrary duration, maybe make the delay treshold customizable in the account settings. I’m thinking of a slider that could go from (maybe) 6 months to 2-3 years. If doing this dynamically is too difficult to implement, then maybe just add a new option in the “Browse” menu titled “Rare Price Drops” and let the devs choose an arbitrary delay time. Ilya mentioned 1 year, but I would go as low as 6 months, half a year is a pretty long time still.

Also kind of related, games that never were discounted could still be shown in “at all time low” filter, or any other implementation. I want to have am easy way to filter them in my wishlist also

That’s a good suggestion. The opposite would be welcome too: “frequently in sale” in order to not feel any particular rush to buy it.

“theres some filter on Deku Deals to find rare promotions?
i.e. there are a lot of games theres “always” in promotion and some that promotion just appear once a year/6 months or… is the frist time that is in promotion
then… theres some filter that separate the wheat from the…tare?”

This is actually just what I came to bring up, too, though I was thinking games could be marked with these as tags similar to “Lowest price ever” or “Matches previous low”. I just saw a Switch game released in July 2019 get an eShop sale for the first time, so both “First sale ever” and “First sale in over 5 years” would be useful tags.

Yep, this would be very useful for rare valuable deals.

It would nice to be notified when a CE or LE is made available for purchase again. They rarely (if ever) goes on sale. It won’t trigger either of the currently tags. Could do this for regular editions as well. Like when Expedition 33 was selling out as soon they were made available for purchase.

This would be really useful for DLC Season Passes that never go on sale. Knowing that I can make a more informed decision whether to purchase or wait.
