The new feature, Deku Community Ratings, is awesome. But it’d be interesting if the users could also submit written reviews of the games as well, along with the preexisting 5-star rating. And those reviews would be readable by others users, obviously.
Reason: I feel like some users are (or could be) “review-bombing” certain games, with very low star rating for no plausible reason. With my idea of the written reviews, the ratings (both good or bad ones) would be justified and not feel as random.
Since the App is known for its clean design and easy-to-scroll-through vibes, those written reviews could: [i] be hidden behind a hyperlinked star-rate number (example: I have to click the number “3” in order to actually read the three-stars user reviews); [ii] the reviewing text-box could have limited letters so users couldn’t write awfuly long reviews; [iii] to avoid disagreements between users and avoid turning the reviews into a “comment section”, there should be no “like/dislike” feature below individual reviews, nor the possibility of replying. Also, in order for a user to review a certain game, they should necessarily have that same game in their “My Collection” list, otherwise people would review-bomb games that they do not own.
Also, since D.D. consists of a small team, an additional suggestion: Use an automatized filter or AI tool to do the moderation-ing job,
